FEATURED EVENTS
Virtual Author Talk with Jodi Picoult - Watch Party
Wednesday, April 2
6 - 7 p.m.
Join us for a conversation between the Library Speakers Consortium and bestselling author Jodi Picoult about her latest novel, By Any Other Name. In 1581, Emilia Bassano, a woman with no voice, finds a way to bring her work to the stage, but it comes at a great cost: paying a man for the use of his name will write her own out of history.

In the present, playwright Melina Green has just written a new work inspired by the life of her Elizabethan ancestor Emilia Bassano. Though the challenges are different, the playing field is still not level for women in theater. Would Melina—like Emilia—be willing to forfeit her credit as author, just for a chance to see her work performed? Told in intertwining narratives, By Any Other Name is a sweeping tale of ambition, courage, and desire that asks what price each woman is willing to pay to see their work live on—even if it means they will be forgotten.

Registration is not required to attend the watch party, but registering does provide you with a viewing link and the opportunity to submit questions for the author.

About the author: Jodi Picoult is a #1 New York Times bestselling author of twenty-nine novels, including Mad Honey, My Sister’s Keeper, and more. She resides in New Hampshire with her husband.
