Seed Exchange Opening in March
The Bettendorf Public Library Seed Exchange is opening Saturday, March 1! The library is proud to offer free access to vegetable, herb, and flower seeds, all of which are open-pollinated and non-GMO. You may take up to three seed packets a month—no checkout required!

Homeschool Creator Club:
Women's History Month Memoirs
Monday, March 10
11 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Celebrate Women’s History Month by learning about notable women and making your own tiny memoir book!
 
Homeschool Creator Club provides a fun art or science adventure on the second Monday of each month. Activities are tailored for tweens but a blast for a wide range of ages. Younger children may require adult assistance.

Learners Conversation Club

6 - 7 p.m.
ESL students of any age can chat with teen volunteers to practice English in a relaxed, real-world environment.
 
This group now meets twice a month, providing you with even more opportunites to sharpen your skills!
Chess Club
Saturday, March 8
1:30 - 3:30 p.m.
Stop in and join us for friendly games of chess! No experience is required; we are happy to teach you the rules to get you started. This club meets every other Saturday, and all skill levels are welcome.

Reading Assistance Dogs

Reading aloud to therapy dogs from the Quad Cities Canine Assistance Network is great practice for kids. It helps them build their vocabulary and self-confidence!

The Teen Leadership Committee (TLC) is a group of enthusiastic teenagers who collaborate with library staff to enhance teen services and programs. Come see if this opportunity is right for you.
 
Members suggest and plan programming, advocate for the needs of young adults, and recommend titles. Plus, you'll earn service learning hours!

Tuesday, March 4
9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
Senior citizens of retirement ages are invited to stop in for socializing and optional activities. We'll have coffee, water, and short activities available for participants.

Take-Home Workshop - Scrunchie

Available while supplies last
Pick up a kit and learn how to make a classic hair accessory—the scrunchie!
 
Kits including all the necessary supplies, as well as instructions, will be available to adults and teens aged 16+ at the library while supplies last. A quick how-to video will also be posted to our YouTube Take-Home Workshop playlist (this playlist is a great reference if you're looking for other craft ideas!).

New 3D Printer in the Creation Studio
We've added a larger 3D printer to the Creation Studio! With the Prusa XL, you can now create prints that are 360 x 360 x 360 mm (or 14.17 x 14.17 x 14.17 in). Previously, the max build volume of our 3D printers was 250 x 210 x 220 mm (or 9.8 x 8.25 x 8.6 in).
 
The Prusa XL 3D Printer was funded by the Friends of the Bettendorf Public Library.
