SPOTLIGHT ON:
Winter Reading Program
Online and in-person registration is now available for the all-ages Winter Reading Program. Complete your challenge to win a prize! You do not need a Bettendorf Public Library card to participate.
How to Participate:
  • Register online or at the library
  • Track your progress online with Beanstack (app also available) or with a physical log you can pick up at the library
  • Complete your challenge by January 31 and return to the library to collect your prize
Select Events:
  • After-hours Teen Silent Disco is this Friday, Janurary 9, at 6:30 p.m. Registration is required.
  • Kids can jam out to their favorite songs while making painted guitar pick necklaces and keychains with Crafts and Karaoke Monday, January 19, at 10:30 a.m. Registration is required.
  • Learn about vinyl record collecting and enjoy a refreshing mocktail at Music and Mocktails with Ragged Records on Thursday, Janauary 29, at 6:30 p.m.

Follow author Dave Markward's transformative journey from a predominantly white community to a life enriched by diversity, as detailed in his memoir, From Dubuque to Selma and Beyond: My Journey to Understand Racism in America.
 
This free presentation intertwines his personal growth with significant historical events and figures, exploring America's racial divides. Two identical, hour-long presentations are available: one at 1:30 p.m. and one at 6:30 p.m.

Breathwork and Crystal Singing Bowls
Saturday, January 31
2–3 p.m. 
Join Dr. Anup and Amber Mulakaluri from Rhythm & Light Wellness for a breath meditation and crystal singing bowls session. This practice will help you explore your thoughts, enhance self-awareness, and find peace through breathing exercises and sound vibrations. Please bring a mat, pillow, or blanket.

All Voices Book Club, funded by the Friends of the Bettendorf Public Library, is open to adults and teens. Books are available for pickup at the Information Desk to read prior to the discussion.
